Breakfast is arguably the best meal of the day, and we couldn't agree more. Our dedicated Breakfast Conservatory ensures you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the River Severn to The Wrekin while you eat.
We serve one of the best complimentary breakfasts in Shropshire with a choice of hot and cold options. We offer a Full English breakfast, a delicious Continental breakfast or a Vegetarian breakfast. Living in an area full of award-winning butchers and farm shops, we source all of our fresh ingredients for our breakfasts from high-quality local sources.
Breakfast is served daily from 8.00am to 9.30am, but we're happy to try and accommodate your needs. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.
But a stay at the Old Hall is about so much more than just a good night's sleep and a great breakfast.
The Old Hall house
Our light and airy Adams-style Drawing Room is open to guests at all times – a lovely room in which to while away a few hours in quiet relaxation.
Inside you'll find comfy sofas in front of the fire and chairs in the bay window, allowing you to admire the river view. A desk sits overlooking the lily pond, and there are plenty of books and magazines on hand. It's an ideal space to enjoy a game of cards or a friendly board game, and wi-fi is available throughout the house.
The Gardens
We have three acres of mature garden with Japanese and Cornish themed areas to explore. In addition to the stunning views across the River Severn to The Wrekin, there are five acres of woodland walks. For those of a competitive nature, a giant chessboard sits ready for the next match, while croquet can be enjoyed on the lawn overlooking the river.
The portico is a great place to sit undercover and watch the weather, whatever the time of year. Umbrellas and cold weather throws are available here for when the weather becomes unpredictable.
We also have fishing rights to approximately 500 metres of the river bank. You're welcome to bring your fishing equipment, but you'll need your own fishing licence.
Dog-friendly B&B
Old Hall is a dog-friendly hotel in Shropshire. We have our own friendly dogs, but they'll be kept out of your way to allow you to enjoy yourselves and relax.
Our Oak Room is dog-friendly, and we're happy to welcome one or two well-behaved, house-trained dogs. However, we request that dogs are not allowed in the Drawing Room or breakfast conservatory and not be left unattended in the Oak Room. There is an additional charge of £15 per night per dog.
The surrounding areas are perfect for dogs, and there's a special pooch-friendly area of the gardens just for them. With various walks suitable for dog walking, you'll delight in discovering the many dog-friendly pubs in and around Shrewsbury and Shropshire. Contact us for more information on our dog-friendly B&B near Shrewsbury.

Accessibility
The Old Hall is over 400 years old so isn't really designed for accessibility. All the bedrooms are on the first floor and accessed via an oak staircase (albeit a wide one). All three bedrooms have steps but the showers are all walk-in.
Ample parking is available just outside the front door on the large private drive. The entrance hall, guest drawing room and the breakfast room are all on the ground floor with no steps. A reasonable part of the grounds surrounding the house are on the level and accessible. Outside of that area the grounds, gardens and woodland have uneven surfaces with many different levels and are not suitable for the less able-bodied.
Housekeeping
We're flexible in the level of housekeeping, depending on your preference. We will replace dirty cups and remove rubbish, but we only service your room if you want us to (we will check with you at breakfast).
We have plentiful supplies of soap and handwash. However, if you would prefer to use antibacterial hand gel, then please bring some with you.
If you need assistance with luggage, please let us know on arrival, and we will help you with it in a safe way.
Occupancy
Prices shown are per room, per night based on a two-night minimum stay and two people sharing. Sorry, but we are unable to take guests under the age of 16. The price includes a full cooked breakfast. During quieter times we may be able to offer a small discount for single occupancy. Please call us to check.
