There are many events in Shropshire in the summer.

If you are interested in gardening and especially roses then a trip to David Auston roses is not to be missed. For over 60 years they have been growing English roses in their Shropshire family farm. There is also a nice tea room there. www.davidaustinroses
For something a bit more unusual and if you don't mind a bit of walking then Hawkstone Park Follies is worth a visit. Set in 100 acres of Parkland, the Follies is a range of dramatic and rugged natural sandstone hills that were developed to include gullies, caves, towers and bridges, becoming one of the most visited landscapes in Britain during the 19th Century. www.hawkstoneparkfollies
For evening entertainment Threatre Severn runs a full programme of plays, musicals, comedies, and dance. In July they also hold two open air theatres at Shrewsbury Castle. theatresevern.co.uk
